ballet with Lauren Stenroos

Lauren Stenroos is a professional dancer and rehearsal director at Cleveland Ballet. She joined Cleveland Ballet as a founding company member in the inaugural season (2015) and is celebrating her 10th season as a dancer with the company. She has originated many principal and soloist roles and has danced in nearly every ballet in the history of the company’s repertoire. Some of her favorite roles are Russian Girl in George Balanchine’s Serenade, Woodland Glade Fairy in Robert Weiss’s Sleeping Beauty, Sugarplum Fairy and Dewdrop in The Nutcracker, A Twisted Sister in Lynne Taylor Corbett’s Dracula, Swanilda in Ramon Oller’s Coppelia, Hipployta in Ramon Oller’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Queen of Hearts in Margo Sappington’s Alice, and Queen of the Dryads in Don Quixote. She also enjoyed performing in Ilya Jivoy’s Symphony of Life, and many other smaller neoclassical works. Prior to joining Cleveland Ballet, Lauren danced professionally with Dayton Ballet, James Sewell Ballet, Texture Contemporary Ballet, Ballet Montana, Nashville Ballet II, and Lake Erie Ballet. During those years, she performed corps de ballet, soloist, and principal roles, as well as performing works by George Balanchine, Gerald Arpino, Septime Webre, Amy Seiwert, Gina Patterson, Stuart Sebastian, Jon Rodriguez, James Sewell, Sallyann Mulcahy, Lesley Bories-Scalise, Paul Vasterling, and Alan Obuzor. Over the years as a professional, she has continued her training, studying with Lesley Bories-Scalise, Sallyann Mulcahy, Melissa Mitchell, and Pamela Pribisco. Lauren has served on the faculty at many ballet schools across Northeast Ohio, including The Academy of Cleveland Ballet, Canton Ballet, Wayne Center for the Arts, Nan Klinger Excellence in Dance, Baldwin Wallace Community Arts School, Olmstead Performing Arts, Beck Center for the Arts, and has guest taught for Ballet West artEmotion Cleveland Intensive, Mercyhurst University, Ashland Regional Ballet, University of Akron Dance Institute, Martell School of Dance, and many other local schools. In 2024, she represented Cleveland Ballet as a guest judge at the National Ballet Competition. Lauren holds a B.A. degree in Dance with a Music Composition Minor from Mercyhurst University. She is also a certified Pilates Instructor on the mat and reformer, and recently completed her Pilates Chair certification with ballet applications through Master Pilates and GYROKINESIS® Trainer Alicia Head. She assisted Alicia Head and physical therapist Kendall Alway with a presentation about turnout at the 2023 International Association of Dance Medicine Science conference (IADMS) in Columbus, Ohio. Lauren is also a classically trained musician and composer and has created original compositions for dance.

Hip hop with ari king

Ari King is 26 years old from Cleveland, Ohio. She has been dancing since 2016 from starting at just learning from peers and friends and videos to joining different teams and companies through the city, to traveling and training, and to booking and dancing for some of the most legendary artists in this entertainment industry. She is a hip hop dancer but has trained in many others styles as well. Ari is signed with Clear Talent Group Agency. Some of her highlights from her career are performing and competing in Los Angeles with ELEVATED Dance Crew (Alumni), such as World of Dance and VIBE, she has done the 2023 Monsters of Hip Hip Show in New York directed by Nick DeMoura (Justin Beiber’s Choreographer), danced and performed for MGk, Kid Cudi, Busta Rhymes, Ciara, and Missy Elliot, Alex Jean, Caleb Gordon, Dante Pride, and more. Ari is extremely grateful for all the beautiful things dance has brought her not just physically but spiritually and emotionally. She loves the community, she loves the exchange, she loves the knowledge and history, she loves the cultures. It’s a gift from God truly and she is just blessed to share as much as she can.

Sarah found her love for dance growing up on company at Dance Dimensions by Jen Naso. After competing for 12 years, Sarah continued her dance education at The Ohio State University, training under Daniel Roberts, Eddie Taketa, and Susan Van Pelt Petry before ultimately pursuing her degree in social work and minor in dance. After traveling abroad and completing her Master of Social Work at NYU, Sarah returned home to the Cleveland area last year and is looking forward to continuing her CDP journey alongside so many welcoming and passionate dancers.

Emma Iammarino, a Cleveland, Ohio native, is a dancer, dance educator, and choreographer. In 2021, Emma graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication and a minor in Dance. Post-graduation, Emma danced, performed and choreographed for Cleveland Dance Project in contemporary and hip hop for 4 seasons. After relocating to Chicago, Emma now trains in hip hop and dances for The Piecemakers, a local hip hop dance company, performing in exhibitions and competitions all over. Emma's dance roots run deep, having grown up dancing competitively and training extensively in various styles, including ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and acro.

Contemporary with erika rogers

Sunday February 2, 11:30-1

Erika Rogers is a cleveland native who has been dancing and performing since the age of 4. After a quick two years of learning the ropes she began her competitive career at the age of 6 and is still currently performing. During her college years she found her way in front of a camera performing in multiple music videos, movies, and performances under the direction of Channing Tatum, Train, Elizabeth II, NFL Hall of Fame, MRI Properties and many more. After building her resume she took her talents internationally and joined Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as one of the lead dancers and performers for a year long European tour. Since returning from the ship she has become an award winning choreographer with multiple cleveland area studios while still occasionally performing. Her most recent work being seen by hundreds performing along side Ru-Paul Drag Race queens and other well known Cleveland Drag Queens for Pride Month.
