Liane Fortino spent the majority of her childhood and teen years dancing at a highly competitive studio in the Youngstown (OH) area. She competed regionally and nationally in many styles including tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and ballet. She also spent time taking classes in dance conventions such as NYCDA, WCDE, and more, learning from renown choreographers including Ray Leeper, Dee Caspary, etc. A highlight in Liane's tap training came from working with Mark Goodman (currently with Velocity). Upon graduation, Liane attended Youngstown State University where she continued her dance career taking classes specifically in jazz, tap, and modern dance. She was also a member of the dance team/majorette line who danced and performed on game days as well as the performance company "dance ensemble" where she had the opportunity to continue stage performance and choreography. She received her degree in education and moved to Las Vegas to pursue her career as a first grade teacher. While her amount of training slowed down, she did find time to take classes for fun and perused learning styles in the ballroom genre, which she thoroughly enjoyed. While in Las Vegas she also received her master's degree in leadership/administration, got married, and had a baby girl. At that time, her husband and her found it best to move back to Ohio to raise their family. They then moved to the Cleveland area, where Liane decided ultimately to hang up her school teaching career and raise her daughter. During that time, an opportunity came for her to restart her dance career as a dance educator with North Royalton Dance Academy, where she has been teaching and choreographing competitive routines for almost 10 years. While she teaches many styles of dance, tap is where her heart thrives. Early on in her dance teaching career with NRDA, she was given the chance to take over and rebuild the tap program from top to bottom. She currently has many recreational and competitive tap students and is extremely proud of the work she has done with her students. Her tap routines are known for being thematic, entertaining, and enjoyable for all audiences. She strives to create pieces that are engaging and get people excited to watch as well as perform. Her group routines as well as soloists and duets have won the highest adjudications (some within 5 points of a perfect score), as well as judge's choices, most entertaining, best choreography, icon awards, and callbacks to reperform for best in show. Aside from NRDA, Liane also is an instructor with Ana Lobe Ballet Academy where she provides training in jazz and conditioning to her ballet students. Liane continues to work on her craft by continuing online training sessions with renown tap dance educators, Karida Griffith and Hillary-Marie, as well as taking online classes whenever she gets the chance. She also has been an active member of the Cleveland Dance Project since season one. She has had the opportunity to train with many amazing local educators and choreographers and has performed in several of their pieces in seasons 1-3, 5, and 8. Liane was also given the chance to co-choreograph a musical theater/tap piece to "Stuff Like That There" for season 3, as well as a tap piece to "Somebody I Used to Know" for season 5. Liane also has taught a summer session, subbed classes, and taught a master class for CDP over the last couple of years. She is excited about future opportunities to continue growing as a dancer and a choreographer in the Cleveland dance community, and hopeful to be a part of season 12.

Elizabeth Adams didn’t always dance, but as soon as she started, she knew she loved it. It wasn’t until midway through high school that she finally gave dance a go and joined her school’s cheer and dance team. She fell head over heels for performing and went on to choreograph pieces that won local competitions and brought smiles to many faces. In college, she broadened her dance horizons and competed on a nationally competitive Bollywood Fusion dance team, Case Kismat. On this team, she learned about and got to perform different classical Indian and folk styles, as well as hip hop, jazz, and contemporary. What she gained the most from her time with Case Kismat was a love of sharing a story with an audience. A few years after graduating, Elizabeth joined CDP in season 9. She has danced in the showcase every season since and choreographed for seasons 10 and 11. She spends many evenings at the CDP studio taking classes for fun and to improve her technique. Elizabeth believes her biggest dance asset is connecting with an audience and performing BIG. Outside of dance, Elizabeth is completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in anesthesia. Christian Spates is a self taught Hip Hop dancer. Christian was inspired to teach himself when he met another Hip Hop dancer who was also self taught. They became friends, and formed a dance crew. They would have freestyle sessions, battle other dancers, and put on a show for crowds whether it be in a club or other public events. Christian first danced for CDP in season 6. It was his first time stepping into a studio, auditioning and rehearsing. Christian has danced for CDP from seasons 6 through 8, and has choreographed for CDP from seasons 9 through 13. Christian continues to learn from those around him in the community, which he takes that knowledge to help improve himself and those around him.

INSTRUCTIONS ON FILLING OUT THE FORM - MUST READ or watch the video!
Fill out your name and number of dances you’d like to be in (you can be cast in 1, 2, or 3 pieces). Leave audition # & time blank as you’ll be assigned a number at auditions. SIGN THE WAIVER or you will not be cast.

Front of the sheet shows you each dance’s details. There is a blank box on the left next to each choreographer for your ranking. Rank the pieces in order of preference, 1 being the piece you’d like to be in the most, 2 being the 2nd, etc. We encourage you to rank as many pieces as you can to increase your chances of being cast. We do our best to cast everyone, but if you only rank a few pieces, that likelihood of you being cast will decrease. Rank all the pieces if you want…but do NOT rank pieces if you cannot make the rehearsal. You will not be placed in any pieces that you do not rank. You CAN rank pieces that rehearse at the same time, we will make sure you are not cast in conflicting rehearsals!

Auditing Dances: Please circle Y or N to let us know if you are willing to audit a dance, ONLY IF WE CANNOT CAST YOU IN AS MANY DANCES AS YOU’D LIKE. Auditing a dance is an opportunity for you to train more! Being willing to audit, only increases your chance of being cast in the season and increases your ability to train, learn, and grow so that the next season you come back better than before. Your role is to train with the other dancers, learn the piece particularly in one person’s spot, and then step in when people are missing from rehearsals. Auditing dancers will NOT perform unless in special circumstances with director approval. Your choreographer will let you know more specifics on what to expect from your role.
